Basic charter

Establish acceptable performance criteria for revenue-grade DC watt-hour and demand meters — accuracy and current classes, voltage ratings, environmental and immunity tests — as a reference for utilities, manufacturers and regulators.

Current activities

This committee is now in recess. Responsibility for further development and revision passed to the ANSI DC Metering Technical Standards Committee, whose ANSI C12.32-2021 standard reached final action on March 4, 2021. The EMerge draft was shepherded through ANSI by a workgroup led by Duke Energy’s Charlie Ploeger, under committee chairman David Lawrence — recognized with EMerge’s Distinguished Chairman’s Award.

Help write the standards the evolving grid will run on.
