Basic charter
Create a universal, open-source framework that standardizes DC microgrid equipment interoperability in a JSON format — enabling seamless interoperability, reducing costs, and supporting safe, efficient integration of microgrid systems globally.
Objectives
- Standardize the listing of key product electrical parameters for microgrid system integration.
- Define typical device characteristics for each class of microgrid device — source, converter, load, controller, energy storage and protection.
- Define a universal JSON framework detailing the electrical characteristics of devices.
Current activities
The committee has reconvened and is reviewing information and use cases to aid the further development and revision of the IDM standard.
